Everyone who knows me knows I’m always on the elusive hunt for the perfect brunch — my most beloved meal of the day where I think it’s perfectly fine to scoff down 600+ calories in French Toast and egg white frittata form (because it’s all about balance).
I used part of my time back home in the desert to scout out the best brunch spots the Valley has to offer; honestly, it was so easy to do. Phoenix has transformed into one of America’s most hip culinary scenes and there was no end to adorable, farm-to-table eateries that focus on giving a healthy spin to every breakfast item — even pancakes.
Keep this page bookmarked as I continue to add to this list through more best of Phoenix restaurant discoveries when I visit home. Here are the five best brunch restaurants in Phoenix has to offer (so far):
Luci’s at the Orchard
I’m writing this article from Luci’s right now as it’s the perfect combination of iced coffee, health-in-mind breakfasts, busy European cafe vibes and a shaded outdoor patio that allows me to comfortably absorb that beautiful fall desert air while simultaneously writing and admiring the parade of adorable Phoenix dogs (who are very welcome). So what delicious eats can Luci’s patrons look forward to? GIANT Acai Bowls, hearty carne asada breakfast burritos, champagne berry crepes and treats galore.
Scramble
This brunch gem is renowned for sourcing only local ingredients from surrounding Arizona farmers – yes, Arizona has farmers, not only cowboys, cacti and stagecoaches. I adore this brunch joint for the fluffy multigrain Pancakes, which make this personally vital food staple totally guilt-free.
Fàme Caffe
Nestled on a corner in Midtown, Fàme Caffe doesn’t seem like the typical go-to brunch spot, but this darling rustic-meets-desert-city gem is a true can’t-miss. A fusion of traditional American, French and Mexican brunch items, you won’t leave this place without saying “very mucho magnifique” – oh, and their cappuccino? It would make Italy proud.
Dick’s Hideaway
Are you a Huevos Rancheros sort of brunch aficionado? Love spicy? Well, us west coasters do and we will happily take jalepenos on any breakfast item (yes, even in our pancakes). Dick’s Hideaway is the truest southwestern brunch experience in Arizona and a gem in Phoenix’s culinary scene for breakfast, brunch and dinner.
Snooze A.M. Eatery
This brunch hotspot will become your new favorite instantaneously once you read these four magical foodie words: upside down pineapple pancakes. For those brunchies with a major sweet tooth, Snooze A.M. Eatery (an Arizona and west coast favorite) has a delectable breakfast indulgence for all appetites.
